Thanks, everyone, for your positive response to this! I'll be visiting as I can today to glean from the Word and give a howdy-do to you all. Must be quick right now because Big needs the office. However, wanted to share that this has been a life verse for me. Many of you can guess that I have a hard time remaining focused. That's fodder for a whole new post. Yet the first part of this verse, "Be still and know that I am God..." stops me in my tracks and focuses me in those 8 short words.
As I get ready to face the challenges and inumerable minivan trips today, I'll meditate upon this, and be thankful that I do have a God who, among everything else--miracles, creation, etc.--calms my heart.

That whole "Be still" business stops me in my tracks all the time.
What should I do, Lord? Be still.
But what should I do? Be still.
whenever I obey, things just go so much more quickly
In this rush-rush-rush lifestyle that we lead these days, those are awesome words to stop and gain perspective with.
If we're not stopping to know Him...to really know Him in His fullness...it's sort of like a sunflower not having the Sun (in our case the SON) to reach for...we get all droopy and our growth gets stunted.

What I have discovered is...."In the stillness God becomes a verb".
Now let me explain. More often than not I think of God as a noun... a person, place or thing.
But in the stillness I stop my work, therefore God becomes action....a verb in my life.
It's in the stillness....the cease of my work...that He truly becomes God.
When God began to speak this verse to me I didn't really like it. I didn't know how to be still. It was intimidating. Now it has become one of my all time favorite verses. I love that God wants to be, waits to be...is becoming... the action in my life.

I sing "Be still and know that I am God" a lot of times when I find myself rushing around. It's so simple. It's what we need to do every day. But if it's so simple, then why do I always forget???
