Gladitude Monday

I want to start today's Glad10 with a hat tip and a prayer request for a very brave and amazing friend. Go here to cheer her on. Onward...to the gladnessiosityismations for the week:

10. Glad my hairapy appointment went well, and that my hair is now the color, texture and cut that God intended for it to be. For don't we all know that limp, non cute hair is of the world? You know I kid. But cute hair is fun.

9. I had a really nice week with BFF. First, just getting a phone call early in the week to catch up. Then a spontaneous shopping trip to Fred Meyer (one stop shopping for us here in the NW) to gather meal ingredients and various and sundry items for a mutual friend of ours who has been mothering her child in the hospital. Thankfully, they are home, and he is doing well, but groceries are always needed.

8. Glad I'm finished with worshiping false idols. Monday/Tuesday I was worshiping both the Porcelain Goddess, and her friend Mr. Wastepaper Basket. I must still have some work to do here because God didn't take me home. Thankfully, now, all systems are "go", and mothering/wife-ing has commenced again with full responsibility and workload. Super glad for the weight loss, too. I know...I know...

7. Glad for a little worship ministry get together on Friday. Only a few folks showed up, but we all enjoyed "game night" together. I had never played "Dirty Queens" before. Fun!

6. Due to #7 above, glad that my house is fairly deep cleaned and pretty much (still) straight. Funny how a bit of social pressure causes an increased output of elbow grease...

5. Not sure if I'm glad about these or not, for they are sure to cause weight gain. They're a marriage of the 2 most perfect foods. And transfats. Mmmmm.

4. Oh, Velveeta. I heart you. Let me count the calories ways...

3. Glad that the 5th graders worked so well last week on their quilting project--we may even finish their squares tomorrow. :) I'll post a picture of the final product. They were diligent and well mannered and helpful last week. Thank you, God! I know tomorrow will be just as great. The older my kids get, the more I really enjoy working in their classes. When it's less about crowd and noise control, and more about creativity and working together, I really have fun. And isn't it all about me, after all? Ahem...somethink sticking in the back of my throat...

2. Grateful for this sweet, poignant book by Sandra Cisneros. I'll add it to my side bar, later. I give it 4 stars. I'm giving a lot of 4 star ratings, it seems. Perhaps because I'm at the point that if I'm not enjoying a book, I stop reading it. Life's short, no? In case you haven't seen it, my recently read books are to your right. What are you reading right now?

1. Glad my Grum turned 83 last week. Born in 1926...think of how much of our country's history she's seen! I remember "interviewing" her about FDR's New Deal (among other things) when I was in 9th grade for Civics class. She's in a lot of daily pain due to her arthritic hips and knees, but still lives independently in her little studio+ apartment. Makes "a meal" every night, and eats her left overs for lunch the next day. An incredible lady. Sassy and opinionated, but incredible all the same.

Blessings on your week! May you find gladness each day.

Aww....Happy Birthday to your Grum. I love to hear the stories that our elders can tell. So inspiring!

Cheryl-me likey Rotel in a big way. It's hard to find here.

Tiffani--You can pick your nose or the same blog background as me. I'm fine with either. ;)

Denise: Thank you for the well wishes. I do not make a graceful puker.

Jenster: Is it August, yet?

Okay...I'll make a deal with you. I'll keep you supplied with Rotel if you'll keep my beagle supplied with TJ's peanut butter treats?

So...I think that there's nothing like company to make me get my house clean...but there's also nothing like violent gastrointestinal illness to get me in cleaning mode either. The latter usually causes me to kick it in gear once I feel like myself again. Purge the germs.

Glad you're feeling better.

Hope you have a good week!

Mmmm, oreos, velveeta...it's like TORTURE just seeing foods when I'm on a diet.

Great Gladitudes as always...and Happy Birthday to your Grum!

I think we need to see a pic of the great hair! I could use some inspiration...

Oh my. Those oreos. I've heard about them but haven't tried them...I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to stop once I start. :)

You don't have Rotel in your area??? I am so sad for you. That stuff is the bomb.

Mer--sounds good!

Becky--sorry if I tempted ya. Diets really do have the word die in them, but I try to do them as well...sigh.

Jackie--as soon as I make the effort to get the flat iron out and "do the hair" I'll get a picture. ;)
