You Musta Been a Beautiful Baby...Cuz Baby, Look at You, Now

June 19, 1998

Happy 11th Birthday!

Dearest Jennifer Kate,

You are a treasure to me...

Shall I list just a few things that make me smile when I think of you?

I think I shall...

I lurve to see you with your daddy. For you are a daddy's girl to the max.

I lurve watching you with the other man in your life--your big brother, David.

I love how your relationship isn't perfect, but how you extend grace, and mercy beyond your years.

I love your sweet attitude with our own animules, as well asanimules we wish were ours...Careful Kody--no biting.

Lurve that you lurve a good book, and that school is fun for you...
I lurve that you have your priorities and vocation in place. ;)

And that you can play nasty on the stage, but at home, are only nasty .00001% of the time. Hey, nobody's perfect.Your pure, amazing joy and love of life tickles me.

And, sweet Jenny, a.k.a. "Drama Girl".

It thrills me, and I love so much that you never stop reaching for the heavens.

God bless you, my daughter.

And thank you, Jesus, for sending me this daughter.

For I am richly blessed, indeed.
Love, Mom

That made me misty today - especially seeing her huge smile with her daddy, for I do love me a daddy's girl.

You are blessed, friend!

Yep, pass the tissues around the BOB today (big ol blogosphere)...

What a beautiful, sweet, lovely young lady you are celebrating here today. I am full amenable to her career choice and will totally be a Stage Aunt if needed...

Happy Birthday, Jenny!!

What a wonderful relationship to have with your pre-teen daughter. Just imagine the good times that the two of you will have as she becomes a young woman.

She's beautiful...most certainly a jewel in your crown.

Please wish her a Happy B'Day!

Precious post!! You look amazing for having just delivered in that first picture too BYW! My first photos with my daughter I looked like I just got hit by a bus! (Could have been my husbands' poor timing of photography though!!)

She is so full of life! And how could she not be beautiful with a mom like you?!

May this 11th year be filled with love and laughter! Happy Birthday Drama Girl!

Happy birthday Drama Girl!

I always think of my kid's birthdays as my special days with God...why else would He have given me such precious gifts on those days?!

Your kids are blessed to have such a beautiful mom, who enjoys life and loves Christ.

Have a great day enjoying your gifts from God.

Thankyou for expanding my heart by 'feeling' yours swell in that post. How our babies do that to us is beyond me. Makes me realize just a smiggin more how our Daddy, not the one with skin on and not negating him, but this time referring to our creator Daddy and how He revels and enjoys and wallows in us.

ps. your man looks like Mark Hall from Casting Crowns

Look at all those great pictures. Happy Birthday to your sweet girl.

My favorites are the first and last photos. The thing that strikes me about the first photo, other than the fact that it's completely precious, is how dark her hair was and how blond she is. Amazing.

And I doubt I have to tell you what it is that I love so much about the last photo. It's just a great, great picture.

Eleven years! Happy Birthday Drama Girl!

This is a beautiful tribute to your daughter, Gretchen. Very touching.

I was all set to make this flippant remark about your awesome post-giving-birth-bangs for I am superficial and suffer from bang envy,

but then I was distracted by the beautiful post you just wrote about your beautiful girl.

may both of you love each other not in spite of, but because of who you are for all the days of your life

Happy Birthday, Jenny! ( I always wondered what your real name was!) The picture with her daddy just melts my heart - you are raising one lovely girl, Gretchen.

Awwwwwwww...getting all choked up here just reading this. What a beautiful birthday tribute to your beautiful girl. Happy Birthday, Jenny. The Lord's Richest blessings on this next year of your life.

Gretchen, it's just not fair to look that good whilst holding a newly birthed infant...I was a pasty-white, racoon-eyed-anemic-hormonal mess in my birth photos, lol. Seriously...you look great.

Loved this post. I somehow missed it in catching up on my reader this morning.
