Help A Sister...

Once again, I thank Sus, for I had never known I was a sister until reading her blog. And now I know.

Help a sister: FIND HER BRAIN!

Oh, please, I beseech thee! I don't know where it was last seen. I haven't heard from it in ages. Please. I need it. Really I do.

For I am...in severe lack.

Yesterday, after all the gladification, I had a day of vexation without representation (insert Church Lady--"Could it have been...Satan???"). Seriously. Here I am, all gladacious, and then, with no warning whatsoever:

  • the fighting of offspring--which was not limited to, but included, the throwing of TV remote.
  • the losing of video entertainment privileges of aforementioned offspring. Which hurt me more than it hurt them. After all, I had to stay up late to catch up on my shows.

Then, after 8 a.m.:

  • our rescheduled guitar lesson was forgotten by our wonderful teacher. I lurve him, and would give him a pass no matter what...but you know...it just sorta threw off Stella's groove.
  • because it forced us to go work out at the gym with the "found" time.
  • And then I had to feed those people dinner. And I was tired.
  • And then, I had to schedule a podiatry appt and PT for Drama Girl's pain-from-running-track foot. Which would've been fine, except...
  • In a toot and panic, I called my neighbor to help bail me out since I.JUST.KNEW. I had double-booked DG's PT with David's commute to school. Sure, she was great with driving him to school. Ten miles from our house. In rush hour. I know...a saint.
  • But then, I realized, that in looking at the schedule I had been looking at for the past 1/2 hour--there was no conflict.
  • So I had to call Sweet Neighbor back. And tell her that I was just...high...or something, but that no...the panic call of 30 seconds ago was just a "psych!" from a psycho, apparently

So, if you see my brain...

You've just lost your mo, jo. It'll come back, hopefully on the plane from Asia.

We had a bit of the sibling thing last night and this morning. It miraculously disappeared with the threat of burning the new Bionicle magazine if it didn't cease.

We are so mature in this house.

I told the boys that they couldn't talk to each other ever again. Ever. And in the next breath told them they couldn't play with any other child that wasn't in our family until they learned to play nicely with the children that are in our family. I'm not quite sure how those two directives are going to merge. Neither one makes a lot of sense. I don't care. I really just don't. They just better do it.

Your brain certainly isn't here. I don't think we have any brains here at all, ours or others'. If you find yours, see if mine is with it. I could use it.

I listed one of my "gladitudes" yesterday that the boys had gotten along all day. Well that was it this morning they all despise each other. The 2 yr old bit the 5 yr old and left broken skin and a bruise through his blue jeans! Oh and how dare I mention a good school day...

Oy vey, I need a fully caffeinated with sugar COKE...

I used to be intelligent and well spoken. Then I had a child. Nuff said.

If it makes you feel better, I planned to go on Abbey's field trip last Friday. The field trip that is scheduled for May 15. Had it written on the calendar and everything. Two weeks off. Uh-huh. My missing brain is hanging out with yours.

I'd like to get off the crazy life merry go round and retrieve my mind now.

Bless you...
I hate to tell you this, for it means it won't get any better...you're normal! That is motherhood for you!

You might just get your brain back in twenty years...maybe!

"And then I had to feed those people dinner."

You just crack me up, Gretchen. I love your sense of humor. :-)

Oh, Sister.

I'm feelin' ya. Loud and clear.

Because these people that live in my house keep demanding clean clothes and food. What do they think I am?

And I'm pretty sure your brain is out to lunch with mine. I hope they are having a nice time together. Maybe they're at Sonic. Slurping Pineapple Diet Dr. Peppers.

My brain is in an airport waiting on seat to fly back to Atlanta, I'm sure of it.

It's an "occupational hazard" from being mothers..that's all. Hopefully they'll return before the senior moments kick in..

Did you look under your dining room table? Mine hides out there a lot. Along with my sense of humor. I hate it when I lose both at the same time.

You just make me smile...

(I can totally relate to your mention of "those people." I sometimes feel the same way. :-)

I think mine is hiding wherever all those socks, that one remote control, that shirt that made me look busty that I only wore once, and every chapstick I've ever owned are.

I suspect there's a hole in the ozone or something that sucks things in some sort of a vortex... including the brains of poor unsuspecting mothers.

Sounds like a pretty normal day of mothering to me! I'm still waiting for my groove to come back....

Great post. I think. Whoever you are. Hey, where am I, anyway? I can speak whale...eeeeeeeeeooooooooooahhhhhhhh...

I need to find my brain, too. I think I left it in Monday. When I find it again, I'll come back and try and leave a coherent comment.
