10. Glad for my "in my computer" friend, Whimzie, who turned 40 yesterday. Words cannot express how much I lurve this girl. And there probably aren't enough words created for our use when we first meet. She's such a treasure to me, and I cannot wait until she comes out of her computer one day. 9. Glad for our cold snap. Though it has triggered some allergies/asthma (please pray), it also brings sunshiney blue skies--very reminiscent of those I grew up with in CO. Crisp. Beautiful.
8. Glad that on a cold (it was Iowa, so I'm assuming it was cold) Pearl Harbor Day, 65 years ago, my grandma and grandpa were married. I owe my life to that, I guess. Full disclosure, they divorced, but still...my mom and uncles evidence their love and God's hand.
7. Speaking of Pearl Harbor Day...I am glad about the phone call I had with my Grum yesterday. She and I are still close, and she is so excited about our Christmas play, which takes place on Christmas Eve, 1944. I'm a little embarrassed to be sending our DVD for her to see, but proud, as well, because it celebrates a people and an era which mean the world to her.
6. While I'm at it...a tip of the hat to our military, both past and present. As I immerse myself in this play, it brings to mind soldiers who serve(d) and who are so far from home during the holidays. So glad and humbled by their sacrifices and those of their families. God bless them, every.one.
5. As glad as I am about participating in this play, I'll be gladissimussly glad when it's ovah. I'll miss it, for certain, and will have to guard against a post-play funk. But it does take a chunk out of my Christmas planning and doing for my family.
4. Glad for my cuddle time with my dtr and the hounds this morning as I finished up my quiet time in my favorite chair, with fireplace and Christmas tree aglow.
3. Glad for an amazing husband. He just is. And I'm just thankful.
2. Glad for friends who have DVD versions of "The Grinch" and "A Charlie Brown's Christmas" because I missed them both. And that just cannot happen.
1. Glad for the light at the end of the school tunnel. On December 19th, I.am.sleeping.in.until at least 9 a.m. HOLLA! And if I can't sleep (which will probably be the case), I'm going to lie there and fake it on principle! :)
Would lurve to hear about your gladdies this week, too!

Awesome list sweetie, love you.
As always...LOVED your list. Something always makes me nod and smile. Glad for all your glads!
My Mamaw and Papaw married the day after Pearl Harbor! (My Papaw shipped out the following day).
Your lists always make me smile.
Thank you for #6. My brother has served in the military for many years and had to spend many months in dangerous places.
Your lists always make me smile.. and be more grateful.
Always glad to make anyone's list! Thanks for the birthday well wishes. As many words as I have (and you know there are many), I am also at a loss for what this unconventional friendship means to me. Please, oh please, oh please let 2010 be the year we get to leave our computers!!!
I have always had a special interest in Pearl Harbor (since it is my birthday). One of my most favorite birthday members was December 7, 2001. We were living in Hawaii. Kelly was either at work or out of the country so it was just me and my eleven-month -old. We went to Pearl Harbor for the 60th Anniversary Commemoration and spent time with men and women who were there when it happened. Amazing.
So there will be DVDs to share with family AND FRIENDS? ;)
I love your wonderful list, Gretchen!
Gladdies this week?
The girls doing the right things; field trip with Scout; reveling still in the big Bama win; quality time with Gary; Chinese food; shaking Christmas gifts; helping others!
I'm glad to be home and on a regular schedule.
Miss you!
Hey my friend.... I'm glad for you!
Have I told you lately how much your words bless me?
Have I told you that you encourage my heart? Cause you do. Thank you for your sweet words left for me.
You've blessed my heart today!
Number 7 (about Pearl Harbor and your Grum) just warms my heart.
And number 1 - about faking it if you can't really sleep until 9 - boy, have I ever done that!
HOLLA!!!
I would love to sleep in on the 19th as well, but stupid (oops we're not supposed to say that word in my house) me scheduled something EARLY the next AM. But I'll be glad for you all snug in your bed with visions of sugar plums dance in your head...or whatever.
Always good to catch up with you. THANK YOU for blogging about as much as me (ok, maybe a little more) so I could actually get caught up on yours!!
