You might need gladness in your day if:
- You spend part of a Monday vacuuming/grinding unseen dog excrement into your carpeting. You might've responded by uttering under-the-breath-expletives, and completing behemoth/painful task of disassembling the Dyson Animal (how appropriate), and running all the plastic-non-electrocutionary parts under the sink, whilst
gaggingcleaning the rest with paper towels and squirt bottle. Oh, your son might be saying something like, "Did you get the poo cleaned up, yet???" You probably had nary a thought of rubbing his nose in...anyhoo. This adventure might end in completing the vacuuming process--after you wrestled the beater bar into place, belt inouchposition. - You buy groceries each week, with glorious plans of menu greatness, only to be thwarted by teenage boys who
stealcherry pickfind and consume delicious edibles meant for such planned meal masterpieces. These boys may also eat items earmarked for their sister's lunches. This might make you frustrated. You may begin not to care that "But Mom, I was HUNGRY!". - You nurse your whiplash from your precious daughter's mood swings. You might have a few of your own to throw in for balance.
- Your husband is far away when things like computers act up and vacuums inhale poop.
So here are some glads:
- For the next few days, our weather is decidedly summery. Mid eighties. Around here, we call that "hot." Praise God.
- My husband has escaped (so far) the call to a quarantine despite sitting near a person who...well...vomited on himself on the plane from Seoul to China. Thank you, God, that so far, he won't be any longer away than normal.
- Our choir starts up Tue-Night. :) It will be nice to reconnect with our "oldies" and hopefully, we'll meet some newbies.
- Glad for hazelnut 1/2 and 1/2. At least I think I am. I bought a quart of it, so I must like gambling.
- Glad for these humbling, amazing, tender, strong, true, and incredible verses for when life becomes very daily:
"12Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. " Philippians 3:12-14
"5 But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.
6 I will sing to the LORD, for he has been good to me." Psalm 13:5-6
"All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. 17How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!" Psalm 139:16-17
"7But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 8We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 10We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body." 2Corinthians 4:7-10
- So...as daily as life can be, He is with me. Praying He is carrying you, too. SDG, indeed!

Still gagging about the vacuum cleaner.
Those verses from 2 Corinthians are special to me. Thanks for reminding me of them today.
Love that you took a gamble on the 1/2 and 1/2. Hope it pays off.
SDG is the motto of the kids' school. It's also a great way to live.
Love you muchly.
i think i would have chunked the vacuum and bought a new one. it's the same thing that i do with tupperware that has been sitting in the refridgerator growing legs for too long. but i guess vacuums are quite a bit pricier than tupperware....but it would have been tempting.
have a gladdie tuesday, jewels.
I'm with Amber. I might have told the hubby that it exploded while he was gone and had to be replaced.
New mercies today, please, Lord!
ew.ew.ew.
glad you used some wonderful Holy Scripts to get some perspective...
you are wondermus to me!
Thank you for another post to strengthen my resolve to remain pet-free in our home! I am soooo with Amber on this one! Hope your Tuesday is MUCH better!!
Bless you dear one, love you.
GAGGING with you. UGHHHHH!
Glad you found some glatitude...I think I would have preferred to stick with maditude. ;)
Great verses...
As a dog owner, I feel your frustration...
As a mom of a growing boy, I totally get your frustration in the menu planning...
As a mom of a teenage girl, I'm about in need of a neck brace...
As a friend, so glad I have you to remind me to laugh at all the situations listed above.
Have a great day!
Love that verse. I have 2 Cor. 4:8 on a sticky note on my desk as a constant reminder.
Poor Big, stuck on a plane with a puker. Ugh! Of all the places for a person to be 'stuck' when sick, an airplane, in view of others, would be the worst IMO.
Your dog is very lucky to have you for it's owner. Raisin's ONE indiscretion of pooping on our dining room floor was a total deal-breaker. She was an outdoor dog after that.
The half&half was a good choice. After prayers and time in the word, a good hot cup of java (with good flavoring in it) can really help turn a yuck morning around.
P.S. And with regard to growing boys...I'm thinking I might have to start baking homemade bread again. Heavy whole wheat bread. It seems to be the only thing that fills the yawning chasm.
I just LOVE that last line. Yes, life can just be full of all the "daily" crap, but He's always with us through it all.
Loved your list!
Have a WONDERFUL weekend!!
Why must you live so far away?
We could nurse our whiplash together, and then go to Whidbey and escape pooping animals.
But I am glad we have our phone...we'll talk soon!
